The Boy in the Striped Pajamas

Last night I went to see The Boy in the Striped Pajamas. It is the story of a boy whose father is a soldier for the Nazi regime and he moves his family out to one of the concentration camps. Without ruining the story I can tell you that it looks at children's perceptions of the war, that David Thewlis is in it, and while he is the boys Nazi father, I do not hate him, so I think he did well with the role. Stacee Lianna went to go see it with me, and I warned her that it is a crying movie, and that it is indeed.

It really makes you think about how Germany had to portray their dehumanization of the Jews and how not all Germans agreed with Hitler's ideologies.

While I think there were some ways in which it could have been done differently, I do feel the film was sucessful in its portrayal.

I am very happy with the final shot, and if they had changed that shot it would've detracted from the story greatly.
