Today I went into work expecting to do a parcel run and then be sent home. But, to my surprise I was told I was going to carry the same route I carried on Monday. The route that had me crying and frustrated.
I also looked at the schedule for tomorrow and noticed that my name was taken off of the route that I do on Saturdays. I was confused. Apparently, the regular carrier is going to work tomorrow, so that I can carry on another route. The same route I did Monday and today.
The good news is that I carried the whole route by myself and was finished by 4:15. I was excited that I finally finished carrying a route all by myself and was done before dark. Then my supervisor sent me out to help another carrier, so I was able to pick up another couple of hours. Yay!
A bad thing that happened today was that I came pretty close to sustaining a dog bite. It tried to bite but I moved my leg in time. I was able to avoid it, and didn't have to spray the dog, but only because I would have also sprayed its owner in the face. I am over the dogs for today though.
But another awesome thing that happened today was that I got my lowest blood sugar reading yet. This morning's was a little ugly (I did have dessert last night though) but not my worst reading and I knew that I was going to get back to business after the holiday festivities. I ate a breakfast with more protein in it and had more protein with lunch. I think these both helped me not be as hungry during the day.
Breakfast: Soyrizo burrito (I premade enough for four days) and a slice of my diabetes friendly pumpkin pie (25+8=33 total)
Lunch: Cup of chicken and wild rice soup, chicken breast (? < 30 assumed)
Snacks: Almonds/Jerky in the morning and a clementine in the afternoon (10/9)
Dinner: 3 tacos and a diet Baja Blast (story of my life) (36 carbs)
I am glad I had a really good day today, it is nice to have a few days in a row where things are going well. I am hopeful that the next few days go well also.
